Rodgers ruled out; Flynn to start vs. Pats
The Packers declared QB Aaron Rodgers (concussion) out for Sunday night's game against the Patriots. Backup QB Matt Flynn will get his first career start.
Rodgers sustained the concussion in the first half of last Sunday's loss to the Lions. He did not practice all week and was listed as doubtful in Friday's injury report.
Flynn, a third-year pro, completed 15-of-26 passes for 177 yards and an interception when he replaced Rodgers. This will be his first career start.
The Packers also signed rookie QB Graham Harrell from their practice squad. Harrell will be Flynn's backup. To make room for Harrell ernandez, Connolly amon, they placed S Anthony Smith on injured reserve.
The way we see it
Considering that Rodgers did not practice all week, this is not a huge surprise but still a big blow to the Packers' chances of pulling off an upset victory in Foxborough.
